How To Make Soothing Lip Balm
How To Make The Best Homemade Lip Balm
This easy made lip balm protects, nourishes and helps keep your lips soft and moist summer and winter.
Feel: Rich natural balm that promptly penetrates the skin where it emollients, soothes and aid in healing.
Scent: I use the clarifying and calming odour of orange flower.
Ritual: Use several times daily and your lips will be soft and moistened all through winter. Also beneficial on other dry skin spots
The Formula: Shea butter, cocoa butter, jojoba and vitamin E is a super-food cocktail that provides the skin with all the essential fatty acids and nutrients that are necessary for optimal collagen production, moisture, care and healing.
What The Ingredients Do For You:
Shea butter: Reduces inflammation, moisturizes, soothes and heals
Jojoba oil: Easily absorbed into the skin, moisturizes and heals
Cocoa butter: Helps ease dermatitis or rashes, may also inhibit the growth of cancerous cells and tumors.
Vitamin-E: Antioxidant, which increase the elasticity of the skin, and helps in neutralizing the harmful free radicals
My Lip Balm Recipe
Ingredients
60 g Shea butter
15 g Jojoba oil or baobab oil
8 g Cocoa butter
2 g of E-Vitamin
2 g Beeswax
Optional: 10-13 drops of essential oils of choice. I use 10 drops neroli or orange blossom.
Lip Balm Instructions
Melt shea butter in a double boiler or small glass bowl over a small pot of hot water, stirring constantly until melted.
Melt beeswax, cocoa butter oil and vitamin-E oil in a small pot.
Add the shea butter to the beeswax mix.
Add essential oils to your preference. I recommend adding a few drops at a time and testing a tiny amount on your arm to make sure the scent is to your liking.
Once you’ve added the essential oils pour the mixture into small glass jars or lip balm tubes.
Let sit in the fridge until cooled and hardened.
Enjoy.
