Make Your Own Homemade Natural Body Wash in Less Than 5 Minutes
One of my favourite body wash recipes.
The good thing about homemade soaps is that you don't have to worry about putting chemically manufactured perfumes, hormone disrupters, or other harmful ingredients on your skin.
Having said that, because we don't add any "softeners" or other additives that make soap smoother, you do have to get used to a different feel when you wash your body with honey, oil, and castile soap.
It is a little less spa-like in the shower, but that's fine with me.
About the ingredients
🍯Raw honey has some healing properties, it helps soften skin and is naturally soothing & antibacterial.
🥥Natural Oils also act as cleansers. You can use jojoba, coconut or a mixture of castor oil and olive oil.
🧼Dr Bronners Liquid castile soap ads and it's a gentle cleanser made from nourishing oils.
🌿Essential Oils are optional, but I like to add a little bit of peppermint to my body wash.
Recipe
Makes about 500ml (16.9 oz)
PROPS:
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup raw honey
1/2 cup oils (I use jojoba oil)
40-60 drops of essential oil of choice (I used peppermint) (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
Gently mix all ingredients in a glass liquid measuring cup. Don’t use a blender or handmixer as this will create bubbles and make it impossible to get into a container.
Pour into a (preferably glass) container and use in the shower as a body wash.
Lasts for several months at room temperature.
Shake it gently upside down daily to remix.
Dosing essential oils (rule of thumb):
